Day 361 - 28 August 2017

Today's post features:

Tidbits I learned as a new mother of TWO:

1. Make everyday special.
Weston wakes up every morning with an attitude of "What are we doing TODAY?!"
In his mind, hair bows and clips are not for special occasions, we should be wearing them EVERYday!
So we try. And its really not that hard to find something special to a two year old :)

(Charlie's first bow!)

2. Don't clean up during nap time.
I used to- I used to clean the entire living room up during nap time. Until I realized I spent most of nap time cleaning up the toys that are just coming right back out in about.... oh yep, they're up now.
So now I don't. And Dixie just has to nap around the mayhem.

3. When in doubt, break out the screwdrivers.
These kids must take after their dad- they always wanna be fixing things (or taking them apart).
Me, I never would have DREAMED I'd ever fix, say, even a stroller tire. But hey, life makes ya tough!

4. In case of an emergency, yell any name.
If someone is getting too close to something, or heading in a direction they shouldn't, it doesn't matter what name is said, or if it's even a name at all. Any loud noise will do. Me, I prefer to just break out in the Martian Hop (not familiar? it's one of our favorites)
Brings EVERYONE right back to the living room.

5. Joint bath time.
Kills two birds with one stone- the kids get clean, and they're confined to a small area for a few minutes so I can take a nap :) (haha just kidding, don't call Child Services on me)

6. Kids outgrow their burp rags, but they don't lose their usefulness.
You know those ones you have squirreled away in all kinds of odd locations? Keep them there! You never know when you'll need to use one as a sweat rag, window wiper, juice absorber, or pillow.

7. Kids don't always need a DOUBLE stroller to have a double stroller.

8. Going from one kid to two was pretty easy after going from having one toddler to one toddler and a PUPPY. Babies are MUCH easier than puppies.... and they both sleep in cages :)

By no means do I consider myself an expert in the art of parenting... or anything else for that matter. But both kids seem happy and free from bodily mutation, so I think we're doing ok so far!

Today's updates:

Sing it: "I've put some new shoes on!"

Belly bump level- expert!

I love that the cow gets to drive.
